Lotfi Zadeh (1921- )
Lotfi Zadeh is a professor of computer science at the University of California. His work originally focused on system theory and decision analysis then shifted to the theory of fuzzy sets and its application to artificial intelligence, linguistics, logic, decision analysis, control theory, expert systems and neural networks. He is currently researching fuzzy logic, soft computing, computing with words, and the newly developed computational theory of perceptions. Lofti Zadeh developed the concept of fuzzy logic which led him to the concept of soft computing. Soft computing includes fuzzy logic and leads to the concept of hybrid intelligent systems.
